Amel Karboul (Tunisian Arabic: آمال كربول), born April 25, 1973 in Tunis, is a Tunisian politician and business leader. She is the first woman to occupy the post of Minister of Tourism in the country, in the government of Mehdi Jomaa been operating since 29 January 2014.〔(website )〕
== Biography ==
Amel Karboul comes from a family of Djerba. Her father Mohamed Karboul received his Ph.D. in economics in Germany, and held the post of Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Interior in the first Baccouche government. Later he became Tunisian ambassador to West Germany.
